Facilities The Hall is suitable for meetings, concerts, private parties, family occasions, funeral receptions, community and charity events as well as regular weekly hire by clubs. 'Teenage' parties are not allowed. The Hall dates from 1920 and features a small memorial garden fronting on to the road. The large window at the Hall end admits a geat deal of light and is listed. The large main Hall is approx. 14m by 6m with a traditional, sprung, wooden floor. It has a high airy ceiling and is well lit. This main Hall is large enough for 110 people standing or 80 seated. It is in excellent decorative order (recently redecorated throughout, with new lighting and window blinds). There is a small bar situated at one side. Heating is oil-fired with 6 large radiators. There are five toilets - 3 ladies and 2 gents but no disabled facilities. There is a baby changing unit. (We are investigating improving disabled access). The
new kitchen, installed in 2020/21 has ample work surfaces and is equipped with
a cooker, large larder fridge/freezer, dishwasher,
microwave, tea urn and kettles. There is sufficient
crockery and cutlery for 40 persons. Food can be
served from the kitchen but it is not registered for
the preparation of food. There is a serving hatch,
which means the kitchen can be separated from guests.
External catering for
bookings can be provided by arrangement. Other
facilities include changing rooms and showers. Due
to COVID-19 we are imposing limits placed on number
of people allowed in the Hall of 25 standing or 20
seated, with a 2m limit to be observed. Face Masks
are to be worn if Social Distancing is not
practicable. Organisers/Hirers will be responsible
for their own Risk Assessment, Control Measures and
retaining a record of attendance for 21 days to
support NHS Track & Trace. We
are currently investigating WiFi provision. There
is a large playing field behind the Hall and the
Methodist Church. It is used by the community and by
local football clubs. It is also the home ground of
the Forest Exiles CC. At the top of the field there
is a new children's play area. Tables, chairs and
gazebos are available for use on the field. It also
has an electricity supply. The field can be hired
separately for sports events or car boot sales. Dogs must
be kept on a lead at all times when on the
field. Parking spaces are limited but additional parking can be arranged on the field for large events if required. For
