REMEMBER - ALWAYS the SECOND SATURDAY in JULY

Carnival Day 1962

1917 -  100 years  - 2017

One hundred years
since the first recorded village carnival and still going strong. We think it happened before this, but our current trustees can't remember.

Carnival 2024

Carnival 2024 will be on Saturday, 13th July. As usual it will start with the procession through the village and continue on the field with the usual stalls, teas, bar, barbecue, sports and a Fun Dog Show. The floats will leave the Taurus car park at 1.00pm and the walkers will join them at Millbrook Green.   Prizes for the best floats are £100 (Bleddisloe Challenge Cup), £75 and £50. There are also prizes for the walking entries.

On Carnival Day the procession will start from the Taurus car park at 1pm with the Tewkesbury Marching Band accompanied by the Harmony Twirlstars from Cinderford. Walkers in fancy dress should join in the procession at Millbrook Green. 2023's judge was the Venerable Pete Watkins.

On the Playing Field there will be many attractions including a pig roast, grand draw, Punch and Judy, bouncy castle, bowling, classic vehicles, teas and a bar. The Forest of Dean Brass Band will once again be entertaining the crowds with traditional music.

The Family Fun Dog Show will be going on all afternoon followed by children's races.  TBC will be performing from 4 till 7pm.

A limited number of trade pitches are available at every Carnival.

This year some food pitches will also be available.
